Clogs are back! We at SOFTCLOX are very happy about the comeback of our favourite shoe, since wooden clogs with the flexible sole are our speciality!

The trend already started in autumn/winter 2020 and is now omnipresent. The slipper-like clog has conquered the hearts of fashion fans worldwide. What are clogs actually?

Clogs (also known as Klotschen) entwickelten sich aus Arbeitsschuhen, die früher eine Holzsohle hatten. Ursprünglich kommt der Clog aus England, verbreitete sich in Skandinavien und schließlich in den Niederlanden, als sogenannter „Holzschuh“. Als praktischer und robuster Schuh wird er auch heute noch von medizinischem oder Küchenpersonal als Arbeitsschuh getragen. Modischen Ruhm erlangten Holzclogs erstmals in den 70er-Jahren. Die Absätze wurden höher und der Schuh ein typisches Accessoire der Hippie-Mode.
